The crisp, clean air is starting to smell like the caramel corn at a summer country fair as the maple producers start tapping their trees and boiling the sap. Both Fadden’s Sugarhouse and The Rocks Estate offer educational tours to learn about the magical process of turning tree sap into sweet maple syrup.
The warm days and cold nights we’ve been experiencing has done more than create a perfect maple sugar season – it’s also perfect winter sports weather! The slopes are open, the trails beckon, so grab your gear and come on up for some warm and wonderful memories! We’ll see you soon.

The 10th Annual Best of Chefs will be held on Sunday, April 3, at 6:00 p.m. at The Beacon Resort in Lincoln. Come and sample all the best that the Lincoln-Woodstock Area Chefs have to offer for an incredible price of only $20.
The admission price includes all the food you can eat as you savor the very best from the area’s top restaurants, along with a night of fantastic entertainment. And, best of all, it’s for a good cause. The Best of Chefs benefits the Lincoln-Woodstock Community Childcare Center.
The Best of Chefs is always one of the most popular events of the year and is a great kickoff to spring. Enjoy the Taste of Northern NH: A Maple Sugaring Vacation For the Whole Family
The Maple Sugar Season will be celebrated this year with special fun-filled weekend programs at the historic 1,400-acre Rocks Estate property. We are offering a fun, educational trip which will include the ins and outs of maple sugaring while you enjoy a fabulous family getaway at the famous Indian Head Resort.Indian Head Resort, in conjunction with The Rocks will offer a series of family-oriented education programs in which participant will learn all about the production of maple syrup. In the course of each two-hour session, topics to be covered will include: The history of maple sugaring, from the time-honored traditions of the Native Americans to the present. Why the sap moves around in maple trees. How to distinguish between red maple and sugar maple trees. How to identify a maple tree when it is without leaves. Participants will also take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the Rocks Estate property and will see up close the workings of a modern-day tube sap collecting system, and will visit an operating sugarhouse. They will also learn how to drill and tap a maple tree. To top off each session, and the program will finish with maple syrup and fresh donuts.
